KTM thus initiates a control of the fork production date on the vehicles that may be affected and a possible exchange of the front wheel fork. This is because the supplier has not verified the heat treatment process of the inner tubes of the front wheel forks. Customers are asked to make contact with an official KTM authorised workshop. The date on both fork tubes will be verified by the official KTM workshops. If only one of the fork tubes be seen to be manufactured during the time frame in question, both will still be replaced. The exchange will be at no cost to the customer. A specific number of a defined group of vehicles among the following models is affected: Models 125/150 SX, 250 EXC, 250 EXC-F, 250 XCF-W, 250 XC-W, 300 EXC, 300 XC-W, 450 SMR, 690 Duke, 690 SMC, 990 SMR and 990 SMT all from the model year 2009. All owners of the models affected will also be directly contacted in writing by KTM. In addition, there is also the possibility to check online whether a model is among those affected. The information is accessible at http://www.ktm.com under the section “Service” after entering the chassis number and the delivery certificate number. KTM inicia assim um controle da data de produção do garfo sobre os veículos que podem ser afectados e uma possível troca do garfo da roda dianteira. Isso ocorre porque o fornecedor não tem verificado o processo de tratamento térmico dos tubos internos dos garfos da roda dianteira. Os clientes são convidados a fazer contacto com KTM oficial uma oficina autorizada. A data em ambos os tubos do garfo será verificada pelas oficinas KTM oficial. Se apenas um dos tubos do garfo ser visto para ser fabricado durante o período em questão, tanto continuará a ser substituído. A troca será sem custo para o cliente. Um número específico de um grupo definido de veículos entre os modelos a seguir é afectado: Modelos 125/150 SX, 250 EXC, 250 EXC-F, 250-W XCF, 250 XC-W, 300 EXC, 300 XC-W, 450 SMR, 690, Duque SMC 690, 990 e 990 SMR SMT todos do ano modelo 2009. Todos os proprietários dos modelos afectados também serão contactados directamente, por escrito, da KTM.
